Can you make a Payment Protection Insurance Claim ?

In order to be claiming back PPI you must first establish if you can actually have PPI.

You will be surprised how many people contact us not knowing if they have or haven’t got Payment Protection Insurance (otherwise refereed to as PPI) added to their loans, mortgages or credit cards. If you do not know if you have had PPI added to your loan, mortgage or credit card then follow these three steps :-

·         When you took out the loan then PPI may well have been sold as a single payment & this will only appear on the initial loan agreement. You’re looking for a lump sum added to your loan amount.
·         In the case of Credit Cards then your PPI charges are added to your account each month so this should be easier to discover as the PPI payments should show up on your monthly statements.
·         If you haven’t got a copy of your original documents then you can request a copy from your bank or other financial institution. For more information about this – then “Click Here”

The second thing then you needs to do, once you have established that you have got PPI attached to your loan, mortgage or credit card is to establish on what grounds you were mis sold this PPI.

If any of the below situations occurred then you were probably mis sold PPI and therefore are likely to be on a position to make a valid claim.

* Did you ask for PPI? In some cases the PPI was added without your knowledge. If this has happened to you then you can claim back PPI.* When you took out the loan were you retired, un-employed or self – employed? If you were then you can claim a PPI refund.* Were you told the insurance was compulsory or if you took out the insurance you would have a better success rate of being approved for the loan? If you were then you can claim back PPI.* Were you made aware that PPI is your choice and you can purchase the same cover through a different company to the lender which could be cheaper? If you weren’t then you can claim back PPI.
